Mineral Sunscreen Reapplication Reminder Timer
Set your reapplication interval, start the countdown when you first apply sunscreen, and get a clear alert when it is time to reapply. Tap "I reapplied" and the timer starts again from the full interval.
Your inputs
As a rule of thumb, use 120 minutes normally and switch to 80 minutes after swimming. Use 40 minutes if you have been swimming heavily, towelling often, or sweating a lot.
Timer ready. Press Start after you apply sunscreen.
How it works
The timer counts down in seconds from the interval you choose: 40, 80, or 120 minutes. The default is 120 minutes, which matches the usual advice to reapply sunscreen at least every two hours. The 80-minute option matches the shorter interval many water-resistant products use after swimming, and 40 minutes is for heavy swimming, towelling, or sweating, when sunscreen comes off fastest.
When the countdown reaches zero, the display shows a visual alert and the page plays a short WebAudio beep, generated in your browser with no audio file involved. The timer stops at zero until you act, so the alert is not missed by a timer that silently rolls on.
Mineral sunscreens sit on the skin rather than soaking in, so they can rub or wash off more visibly than other types. That is why the timer is tied to reapplication, not to a single application: the protection only lasts while the layer is actually still on your skin.
How to use your result
Start the timer as soon as you have applied sunscreen, not when you arrive at the beach. When the alert sounds, reapply everywhere — ears, neck, feet, and the back of the legs are easy to miss — then tap "I reapplied" to restart the countdown. If you swim, towel off, or sweat heavily before the timer ends, reapply sooner and restart the timer then. Keep the page open while the timer runs, and use shade and clothing alongside sunscreen on high-UV days.
